Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. MONITORING COMPLIANCE. 1 (a) IN GENERAL.—The Inspector General of the De- 2 partment of Housing and Urban Development shall, on 3 an annual basis and for each public housing agency (as 4 such term is defined in section 3(b) of the United States 5 Housing Act of 1937 (42 U.S.C. 1437a(b)))— 6 (1) monitor the extent of noncompliance with 7 the requirements under section 12(c) of such Act 8 (42 U.S.C. 1437j(c)); and 9 (2) determine the aggregate amount provided in 10 Federal subsidies for all public housing dwelling 11 units that were occupied by tenants who were not in 12 compliance with such requirements. 13 (b) PUBLICATION.—Not later than September 30 of 14 each fiscal year, the Inspector General of the Department 15 of Housing and Urban Development shall cause to be pub- 16 lished in the Federal Register a statement of the amount 17 determined for such fiscal year pursuant to subsection 18 (a)(2). 19 SEC. 3.
