A BILL
To designate the area between the intersections of Inter-
national Drive, Northwest and Van Ness Street, North-
west and International Drive, Northwest and Inter-
national Place, Northwest in Washington, District of Co-
lumbia, as ‘‘Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard’’,
and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. DESIGNATION OF TIANANMEN SQUARE MEMO-

RIAL BOULEVARD.

(a) DESIGNATION OF PLAZA.—
3
(1) IN GENERAL.—The area between the inter-
4
sections of International Drive, Northwest and Van
5
Ness Street, Northwest and International Drive,
6
Northwest and International Place, Northwest in
7
Washington, District of Columbia, shall be known
8
and designated as ‘‘Tiananmen Square Memorial
9
Boulevard’’.

(2) REFERENCES.—Any reference in a law,
11
map, regulation, document, paper, or other record of
12
the area referred to in paragraph (1) shall be
13
deemed to be a reference to Tiananmen Square Me-
14
morial Boulevard.

(b) DESIGNATION OF ADDRESS.—
16
(1) DESIGNATION.—The address of 3505 Inter-
17
national Place, Northwest, Washington, District of
18
Columbia, shall be redesignated as 1 Tiananmen
19
Square Memorial Boulevard.
20
(2) REFERENCES.—Any reference in a law,
21
map, regulation, document, paper, or other record of
22
the United States to the address referred to in para-
23
graph (1) shall be deemed to be a reference to 1
24
Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard.

(c) SIGNS.—The Administrator of General Services
1
shall construct street signs that shall—
2
(1) contain the phrase ‘‘Tiananmen Square Me-
3
morial Boulevard’’;
4
(2) be similar in design to the signs used by
5
Washington, District of Columbia, to designate the
6
location of Metro stations; and
7
(3) be placed on—
8
(A) the parcel of Federal property that is
9
closest to 1 Tiananmen Square Memorial Bou-
10
levard (as redesignated by subsection (b)); and
11
(B) the street corners of International
12
Drive, Northwest and Van Ness Street, North-
13
west and International Drive, Northwest and
14
International Place, Northwest, Washington,
15
District of Columbia.
