To amend the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 to repeal the sunset of
the work requirement exemption applicable to homeless individuals, vet-
erans, and foster care individuals for the purpose of determining eligi-
bility to receive supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits under
the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008.

A BILL
To amend the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 to repeal
the sunset of the work requirement exemption applicable
to homeless individuals, veterans, and foster care individ-
uals for the purpose of determining eligibility to receive
supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits under
the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Food Access and Sta-

bility Act of 2023’’.

SEC. 2. AMENDMENT.

Section 311(b)(2) of title II of division C of the Fiscal
5
Responsibility Act of 2023 (Public Law 118–5) is amend-
6
ed by striking ‘‘subsection (a)’’ and inserting ‘‘subsection
7
(a)(1)’’.
