To require certain State departments of transportation to
notify first responders of AskRail application, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Rail Inspector Safety
4
Act of 2023’’.

SEC. 2. ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATORS.

In addition to the amounts authorized under section
7
1118 of title 49, United States Code, there is authorized
8
to be appropriated $3,000,000 for each of fiscal years
9
2024 through 2028, to remain available until expended,
