To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to extend
the requirement for State Medicaid plans to provide cov-
erage for medication-assisted treatment.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Extending Access to

Addiction Treatment Act’’.

SEC. 2. EXTENDING REQUIREMENT FOR STATE MEDICAID

(a) IN GENERAL.—Section 1905(a)(29) of the Social
4
Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1396d(a)(29)) is amended by
5
striking ‘‘2025’’ and inserting ‘‘2035’’.

CONFORMING
AMENDMENT.—Section
7
1006(b)(4)(A) of the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention
8
that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Pa-
9
tients and Communities Act (42 U.S.C. 1396a note) is
10
amended by striking ‘‘2025’’ and inserting ‘‘2035’’.
