To amend section 214(g)(5) of the Immigration and Nationality Act to
remove the numerical limitation on nonimmigrant aliens issued a visa
or otherwise provided status under section 101(a)(15)(H)(i)(b) of such
Act in the case of an alien who is employed at the Department of
Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.

A BILL
To amend section 214(g)(5) of the Immigration and Nation-
ality Act to remove the numerical limitation on non-
immigrant aliens issued a visa or otherwise provided
status under section 101(a)(15)(H)(i)(b) of such Act in
the case of an alien who is employed at the Department
of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Expanding Health
4
Care Providers for Veterans Act’’.

SEC. 2. ADMISSION OF NONIMMIGRANTS.

(a) REMOVING NUMERICAL LIMITATION.—Section
2
214(g)(5) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8
3
U.S.C. 1184(g)(5)) is amended—
4
(1) in subparagraph (B), by striking ‘‘or’’ at
5
the end;
6
(2) in subparagraph (C), by striking the period
7
at the end and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and
8
(3) by adding at the end the following:
9
‘‘(D) is employed (or has received an offer
10
of employment) at the Department of Veterans
11
Affairs or a State home (as defined in section
12
101(19) of title 38, United States Code) recog-
13
nized and certified by the Secretary of Veterans
14
Affairs.’’.

(b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment made by
16
subsection (a) shall take effect 6 months after the date
17
of the enactment of this Act.
