Ms. MATSUI (for herself and Mr. JOHNSON of Ohio) introduced the following
bill; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means, and in
addition to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, for a period to be
subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration
of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee con-
cerned
A BILL
To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to improve
access to skilled nursing facilities for primary immuno-
deficiency patients.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘PI Post Acute Access
4
Act’’.

SEC. 2. IMPROVING ACCESS TO SKILLED NURSING FACIL-

PRIMARY
IMMUNO-

DEFICIENCY PATIENTS.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Section 1888(e)(2)(A)(iii) of the
4
Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395yy(e)(2)(A)(iii)) is
5
amended by adding at the end the following new sub-
6
clause:

‘‘(VII) Items and services needed
8
for the administration of intravenous
9
immune globin for the treatment of
10
primary immune deficiency disease.’’.
11
(b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendment made by
12
subsection (a) shall apply to items and services furnished
13
on or after January 1, 2024.
