SUPPORT FOR MATERNITY HEALTH CARE COORDI- 1 NATION PROGRAMS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF 2 VETERANS AFFAIRS. 3 (a) REPORTS TO CONGRESS.—Not later than one 4 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, and annu- 5 ally thereafter until September 30, 2028, the Secretary 6 of Veterans Affairs shall submit to the Committees on 7 Veterans’ Affairs of the House of Representatives and the 8 Senate, and make publicly available, a report that contains 9 the following: 10 (1) A summary of the activities carried out 11 under the programs of the Department of Veterans 12 Affairs relating to the coordination of maternity 13 health care. 14 (2) Data on the maternal health outcomes of 15 veterans who receive medical care or services fur- 16 nished at a medical facility of the Department of 17 Veterans Affairs or by a non-Department of Vet- 18 erans Affairs health care provider who provides such 19 care or services to veterans under the laws adminis- 20 tered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, including 21 pursuant to the programs specified in paragraph (1). 22 (3) Recommendations by the Secretary of Vet- 23 erans Affairs to improve the maternal health out- 24 comes of veterans, with a particular focus on vet- 25 erans from demographic groups with elevated rates 26 VerDate Sep 11 2014 04:10 May 27, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H3303.IH H3303 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 3303 IH of maternal mortality, severe maternal morbidity, 1 maternal health disparities, or other adverse 2 perinatal or childbirth outcomes. 3 (b) AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.— 4 (1) AUTHORIZATION.—There is authorized to 5 be appropriated to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs 6 $15,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2024, 2025, 7 2026, 2027, and 2028, for the programs of the De- 8 partment of Veterans Affairs relating to the coordi- 9 nation of maternity health care, including the mater- 10 nity care coordination program described in Vet- 11 erans Health Administration Directive 1330.03 (or 12 any successor directive). 13 (2) SUPPLEMENT NOT SUPPLANT.—Amounts 14 authorized under paragraph (1) are authorized in 15 addition to any other amounts authorized for the co- 16 ordination of maternity health care for the Depart- 17 ment of Veterans Affairs. 18 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 04:10 May 27, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H3303.IH H3303 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
