Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Maternal Vaccination 4 Act’’. 5 SEC. 2. MATERNAL VACCINATION AWARENESS AND EQUITY 6 CAMPAIGN. 7 (a) CAMPAIGN.—Section 313 of the Public Health 8 Service Act (42 U.S.C. 245) is amended— 9 (1) in subsection (a), by inserting ‘‘and among 10 pregnant and postpartum individuals,’’ after ‘‘low 11 rates of vaccination,’’; 12 (2) in subsection (c)(3), by striking ‘‘prenatal 13 and pediatric’’ and inserting ‘‘prenatal, obstetric, 14 and pediatric’’; 15 (3) in subsection (d)(4)(B), by inserting ‘‘preg- 16 nant and postpartum individuals and’’ after ‘‘includ- 17 ing’’; and 18 (4) in subsection (g), by striking ‘‘$15,000,000 19 for each of fiscal years 2021 through 2025’’ and in- 20 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:05 May 30, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H3348.IH H3348 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 3348 IH serting ‘‘$17,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2024 1 through 2028’’. 2 (b) ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES.—Section 317(k)(1)(E) 3 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 4 247b(k)(1)(E)) is amended— 5 (1) in clause (v), by striking ‘‘and’’ at the end; 6 and 7 (2) by adding at the end the following: 8 ‘‘(vii) increase vaccination rates of 9 pregnant and postpartum individuals, in- 10 cluding individuals from racial and ethnic 11 minority groups, and their children; and’’. 12 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:05 May 30, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H3348.IH H3348 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
