      H.R. No. 1426       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, The Jocelyn Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge,   situated on the Texas Gulf Coast east of Houston, was officially   dedicated at a ceremony held on April 24, 2025; and          WHEREAS, In June 2024, Jocelyn Nungaray tragically lost her   life at the age of 12; following an executive order issued by   President Donald J. Trump, U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug   Burgum signed a secretary's order on March 10, 2025, renaming the   Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge to the Jocelyn Nungaray National   Wildlife Refuge in honor of the young girl; and          WHEREAS, Known for her kindness, generosity, and love of   nature, Jocelyn Nungaray often brought home stray or injured   animals in order to provide them with a sanctuary; the renaming of   the 39,000-acre refuge, which supports a wide variety of birds,   mammals, amphibians, and insects, pays tribute to Jocelyn's   compassion for all living beings; and          WHEREAS, While the life of Jocelyn Nungaray ended far too   soon, her spirit will forever live on through the legacy of   conservation at the Jocelyn Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge; now,   therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby commemorate the dedication of the Jocelyn   Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge.     Leo Wilson     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
