HR1415 - Congratulating Assistant Chief Tommy Chisum of the Dalhart Volunteer Fire Department on being named the 2025 Firefighter of the Year by the Panhandle Firemen's & Fire Marshal's Association.

      H.R. No. 1415       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Tommy Chisum of the Dalhart   Volunteer Fire Department was named the 2025 Firefighter of the   Year by the Panhandle Firemen's & Fire Marshal's Association; and          WHEREAS, A native of Aspermont, Mr. Chisum worked for the   Texas Department of Corrections following his high school   graduation, and he moved to Dalhart in 1999; he later became the   fire department mechanic for the City of Dalhart, and he has been a   member of the Dalhart VFD since 2004; over the course of his   exemplary tenure, he has played an instrumental role in helping the   agency respond to emergencies, and he has been certified as a   firefighter, fire instructor, and hazmat technician; he also   recently completed the Brave Fire Leader Academy, and he will soon   graduate from the Texas Fire Chiefs Executive Chief Officer   Academy; and          WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his community, Mr. Chisum has   helped to address the need for better traffic control at the   intersection in front of Dalhart Elementary School; twice a week   for the past two years, he and Fire Dog Arlo have stood guard at the   intersection, helping students safely cross the street; he is a   devoted husband to his wife, Brandi; and          WHEREAS, Tommy Chisum has demonstrated an exceptional   commitment to protecting the lives and property of his fellow   citizens, and he is indeed deserving of this most recent honor; now,   therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby congratulate Assistant Chief Tommy Chisum of the   Dalhart Volunteer Fire Department on being named the 2025   Firefighter of the Year by the Panhandle Firemen's & Fire Marshal's   Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued   success in his important work; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for Mr. Chisum as an expression of high regard by the Texas   House of Representatives.     Smithee     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
