      H.R. No. 1377       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, U.S. Army Specialist Roberto Avila of San Elizario   served his country with great honor and distinction as a member of   the armed forces, and the occasion of Memorial Day on May 26, 2025,   provides a fitting opportunity to posthumously honor him for his   dedicated military career; and          WHEREAS, On Memorial Day each May, citizens across our state   and nation come together for a day of solemn remembrance of those   servicemen and servicewomen who so valiantly served their country   and who gave their lives in the line of duty; each of these   individuals made the noble decision to place country before self,   and their sacrifice echoes through generations; their absence   leaves a void that can never be fully filled, but their legacy is   etched forever into the soul of our nation; and          WHEREAS, Specialist Avila proudly served from 1976 to 1979 as   a member of the U.S. Army; and          WHEREAS, Demonstrating the utmost dedication and bravery   during his years in uniform, Roberto Avila upheld the highest   ideals of the United States armed forces, and his fellow citizens   owe him a lasting debt of gratitude; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and service of U.S. Army   Specialist Roberto Avila; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of   Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Roberto   Avila.     González of El Paso     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
