HR1350 - In memory of Taylor Hall Jr. of Brazoria County.

      H.R. No. 1350       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Taylor Hall Jr., an esteemed member of the Brazoria   County community and a friend to many, passed away on May 8, 2025,   at the age of 93; and          WHEREAS, The son of Taylor Hall Sr. and Ermer Jackson Hall,   Taylor Hall was born in Bailey's Prairie on February 15, 1932, and   he grew up with the companionship of nine siblings; he was a student   at Marshall Elementary School, and he was baptized at Burrell   Chapel Baptist Church; from an early age, he began riding horses and   building his skills as a cowboy; and          WHEREAS, Over the course of a career that spanned 54 years,   Mr. Hall worked at a number of ranches in Brazoria County and   competed in rodeos across the country, winning several   championships in saddle and bareback bronc riding, bull riding, and   steer wrestling; nicknamed "The Bailey's Prairie Kid," he earned   induction into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame, and he has been   featured in rodeo documentaries and museum exhibitions about the   legacy of Black cowboys in America, among them a photography   collection at the Stark Museum of Art; in addition, the Brazoria   County Commissioners Court honored him with the declaration of   Bailey's Prairie Kid Day on February 15, 2023; and          WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Hall enjoyed the love and   support of his wife, Faye Marie Williams, and the couple shared a   rewarding marriage until her passing; he was the proud father of   their seven children, Taylor, Opal, Edward, Rhonda, Patrick,   Mechealinda, and Temple; over the years, his cherished family grew   to include numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and   great-great-grandchildren; and          WHEREAS, A trailblazer and a true Texas cowboy, Taylor Hall   leaves behind a legacy that will long be treasured by all those who   held him dear; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Taylor Hall Jr. and   extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his   siblings, Sherman Hall, Mary Woodard, and John Hall; to his   children, Rhonda Hall, Patrick Hall, Mechealinda Sanford, and   Temple Carter; to his family friends, George and Margie Munson; to   his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and   great-great-grandchildren; and to his many other relatives and   friends; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of   Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Taylor   Hall.     Vasut     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
