HR1297 - Recognizing May 2025 as Women's Health Month.

      H.R. No. 1297       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Women's Health Month is being observed in May 2025   to call attention to the unique health challenges that women face;   and          WHEREAS, Women are disproportionately impacted by health   issues such as reproductive disorders and breast, cervical, and   ovarian cancers; the prevalence of these conditions highlights the   importance of providing women with equitable access to preventative   care, treatment, and support systems; between 1995 and 2020, Texas   was home to more than 200,000 breast cancer survivors, and many of   these resilient women benefited from early detection, advancements   in treatment, and community advocacy; and          WHEREAS, In recent years, the State of Texas has invested   millions of dollars in women's health initiatives, including the   Family Planning Program, the Breast and Cervical Cancer Services   program, and Healthy Texas Women; these historic funding   achievements have made a meaningful impact in the lives of   countless women across the state, and they have helped to expand   access to health care in rural communities and underserved urban   areas; in addition, the state created the Sexual Assault Survivors'   Task Force to support vulnerable women; and          WHEREAS, More work remains to be done to ensure that women   have access to the care they need, and the observance of Women's   Health Month serves as a means of focusing attention on the vital   research and resources that can help improve health outcomes for   women of all backgrounds; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby recognize May 2025 as Women's Health Month and   encourage all women in Texas to prioritize their physical, mental,   and emotional well-being.     Howard     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
