      H.R. No. 1258       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their   memories of Amado Robledo of McAllen, who passed away on May 2,   2025, at the age of 88; and          WHEREAS, Amado Robledo was born in Weslaco on August 20,   1936, to Amado Robledo and Benita Cantu; he played basketball at   Weslaco High School and Pan American University, and he earned a   doctorate and certification in banking; answering his nation's call   to duty, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps as a member of its   basketball team; and          WHEREAS, Mr. Robledo served as an assistant football coach at   Monterrey Tech University, and during his tenure, the team won a   national championship; he was also an assistant athletic director   at Pan American University, and he provided color commentary for   the Spanish broadcast of a Dallas Cowboys game during the 1980s; in   his late 40s, he began attending law school, and after graduating   and passing the bar, he established a successful private practice   in McAllen; and          WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Robledo enjoyed the love   and support of his wife, Angeles, and he took great pride in their   children; and          WHEREAS, Although Amado Robledo is deeply missed, memories of   his passion for life, his strength, and his devotion to his family   remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now,   therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Amado Robledo and   extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,   Angeles Robledo; to his children, Robbie, Ronnie, Carlos, Celeste,   Maricela, Marissa, Benita, Claudia, Lorena, Monica, and Rogelio;   and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of   Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Amado   Robledo.     Martinez     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
