      H.R. No. 1186       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Ava Vargas of Americas High School in the Socorro   Independent School District has distinguished herself in her   responsibilities as a legislative intern in the office of State   Representative Mary E. González; and          WHEREAS, Over the course of her internship, Ms. Vargas has   provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging   tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of   public service, she has learned more about the legislative process   and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and          WHEREAS, Ms. Vargas is an active member of several student   organizations, including Key Club, student council, National Honor   Society, and Libertas Academy; she has also given back to her   community by volunteering with such organizations as El Pasoans   Fighting Hunger and the El Paso Villa Maria women's shelter; and          WHEREAS, Ava Vargas has performed her duties as a legislative   intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of   special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby commend Ava Vargas for her service as a   legislative intern in the office of State Representative   Mary E. González and extend to her sincere best wishes for   continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for Ms. Vargas as an expression of high regard by the Texas   House of Representatives.     González of El Paso     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
