HR1110 - In memory of George Hugh Johnson of Inez.

      H.R. No. 1110       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the   passing of George Hugh Johnson of Inez on February 18, 2025, at the   age of 55; and          WHEREAS, The son of George E. Johnson and Cynthia Siegel   Johnson, George Johnson was born in Houston on August 1, 1969, and   he grew up in Victoria with the companionship of two brothers,   J. J. and Richard; as a teenager, he was very involved in the   Victoria Livestock Show and youth rodeo, and he later filled his   Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association permit in calf roping; in   1989, he graduated from Stroman High School; and          WHEREAS, On June 26, 1993, Mr. Johnson exchanged vows with   the former Constance Filley, and the couple went on to share a   rewarding marriage that spanned more than three decades; they were   blessed with a daughter, Jordan, and a son, Mason, and over the   years, their family grew to include a grandson, Rhett; and          WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson worked as a sergeant in the detention   division of the Victoria County Sheriff's Office during the 1990s,   and he eventually retired from the Texas Commission on Jail   Standards; he then embarked on a second career as the owner of   Johnson Maintenance Service; and          WHEREAS, A man of faith, Mr. Johnson was an active congregant   of At the Cross Fellowship, where he served as a deacon; above all   else, he cherished time spent with his family, supporting the   athletic pursuits of his children in their younger years and   enjoying trips together to deer camp and Camp Huaco Springs; and          WHEREAS, Although George Johnson is greatly missed, he has   left his loved ones with many treasured memories, and he will   forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of George Hugh Johnson   and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his   wife, Constance; to his daughter, Jordan, and her husband, Blake;   to his son, Mason, and his wife, Carli; to his brothers, J. J. and   his wife, Holly, and Richard; to his grandson, Rhett; and to his   many other relatives and friends; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of   Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of George   Johnson.     Louderback     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
