      H.R. No. 1036       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, The first annual El Rey del Río: Anzaldúas BBQ   Cookoff is taking place in the fall of 2025 in Mission; and          WHEREAS, Sanctioned by Champions Barbecue Alliance as one of   the organization's state championship cook-offs, this premier   competition draws accomplished pitmasters from across Texas who   strive to create the tastiest dishes in several different   categories, including fajitas, ribs, and chicken; and          WHEREAS, Organized by Hidalgo County commissioner Everardo   "Ever" Villarreal, the contest not only highlights the art of   barbecue but also supports local tourism by showcasing Anzaldúas   Park; and          WHEREAS, A fun occasion for all ages, El Rey del   Río: Anzaldúas BBQ Cookoff is a fitting celebration of the   delectable fare that is integral to the culture of the Lone Star   State, and it is sure to become a beloved South Texas tradition;   now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby commemorate the first annual El Rey del   Río: Anzaldúas BBQ Cookoff and extend to the organizers and   participants sincere best wishes for a memorable and successful   event.     Longoria     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
