      H.R. No. 1017       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, People around the globe are gathering on April 20,   2025, to celebrate Easter, a holy day of great meaning in the   Christian faith; and          WHEREAS, Easter commemorates the day that Jesus Christ of   Nazareth was raised from the dead after being crucified on Calvary;   Christians everywhere reflect on the gospel's enduring message of   rebirth, living hope, and eternal life; and          WHEREAS, In the weeks before the sacred event, many observe a   40-day period of fasting and prayer known as Lent; Holy Week then   commemorates Christ's final days on earth; his crucifixion is   remembered solemnly on Good Friday followed by the triumphant   celebration of his resurrection on Easter Sunday; and          WHEREAS, Families and loved ones come together during this   special time to worship and to express gratitude for the miracle of   Christ's ascension; the festivities symbolize new life and hope for   the future, themes that parallel spring, the season in which Easter   falls; and          WHEREAS, Observed for over two millennia, Easter ushers in a   period of joy and renewal, signifying one of the most fundamental   pillars of faith for the Christian community, the resurrection of   Christ; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby commemorate Easter 2025.     Patterson     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
