      H.R. No. 1009       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Mark Woodyard of Murphy Middle School has been   nominated for the 2025 Plano Independent School District Secondary   Teacher of the Year award; and          WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to   become successful and productive adults, and those men and women   who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference   in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and          WHEREAS, Mr. Woodyard has been teaching and coaching at   Murphy Middle School since 2014, and he was named athletic director   in 2018; a graduate of Berkner High School in Richardson, he served   six years in the United States Army, completing tours of duty in   Iraq and Afghanistan; after concluding his military service, he   earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from The   University of Texas at Dallas; and          WHEREAS, Mark Woodyard exemplifies the passion,   determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our   best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all   in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby congratulate Mark Woodyard on his nomination for   the 2025 Plano Independent School District Secondary Teacher of the   Year award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued   success with his important work; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for Mr. Woodyard as an expression of high regard by the   Texas House of Representatives.     Noble     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
