      H.R. No. 887       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Madisyn Karkosky, a sophomore at Temple High School,   was named the champion in the Precision Metal contest at the   SkillsUSA Texas State Leadership and Skills Conference, held in   Corpus Christi from April 2 to 5, 2025; and          WHEREAS, SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization that   serves students who are preparing for careers in technical,   skilled, and service occupations; its championships begin at the   local level in classrooms nationwide, and winners progress to   district, state, national, and international events; through their   participation, students are given opportunities to test their   skills, make professional contacts, and earn such prizes as   recognition medallions, scholarships, and tools; and          WHEREAS, Prior to attending the state conference,   Ms. Karkosky was tasked with utilizing blueprints to produce shapes   of specified tolerances and dimensions using the Temple Independent   School District's manual mill and lathe; she then completed three   in-person assessments that tested her calculation and measurement   abilities as well as her knowledge of equipment and machinery; her   success has inspired her to pursue a manual machinist certificate,   and she plans to complete an internship at local machine company MTC   during her senior year; upon graduating from high school, she   intends to enroll in college and work toward a career in machinery   and welding; and          WHEREAS, Through her hard work and commitment to excellence,   Madisyn Karkosky has won great distinction for herself and her   school, and she may indeed take pride in this outstanding   achievement; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby congratulate Madisyn Karkosky on being named the   champion in Precision Metal at the 2025 SkillsUSA Texas State   Leadership and Skills Conference and extend to her sincere best   wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it   further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for Ms. Karkosky as an expression of high regard by the   Texas House of Representatives.     Buckley     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
