      H.R. No. 623       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce is   hosting its advocacy day at the Texas Capitol, ¡VIVA San Antonio!,   on March 26, 2025; and          WHEREAS, Established in 1894, the Greater San Antonio Chamber   of Commerce has played a pivotal role in advancing economic growth,   championing businesses, and fostering collaboration among   industries, government entities, and community organizations; as   the primary voice of business in the city, the chamber has mobilized   its members to promote and drive important initiatives that benefit   the community and address local challenges; and          WHEREAS, In the course of its history, the chamber has   assisted in the establishment of San Antonio's military   installations and ensured adequate infrastructure to support the   city's growth; in addition, the chamber brought the 1968 World's   Fair to San Antonio, and it helped to develop the iconic River Walk   and the South Texas Medical Center; the chamber also supported   legislation to create Brooks City Base, and it was instrumental in   the creation of such organizations as the Fiesta San Antonio   Commission, San Antonio Sports, and BioMedSA; and          WHEREAS, The San Antonio chamber holds the distinction of   being the oldest and largest organization of its kind in South   Texas, with approximately 1,600 members across various industries;   it benefits from the able leadership of president and chief   executive officer Jeff Webster and executive board chair Pat Frost,   and it has received valuable contributions from VIVA co-chairs   Krista Piferrer and Kevin Matula as well as from its numerous other   board members, investors, ambassadors, community partners, and   staff; and          WHEREAS, Over the past 130 years, the Greater San Antonio   Chamber of Commerce has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to   building a stronger business network and community, and its ¡VIVA   San Antonio! event offers a fitting opportunity for local leaders   to share their priorities with state legislators and to collaborate   on solutions that improve the quality of life in the region and   throughout the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby recognize March 26, 2025, as ¡VIVA San Antonio!   Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting   delegation.     Lujan     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
