HR617 - Commending Mike Gleason of Cedar Park for his service to Williamson County.

      H.R. No. 617       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Mike Gleason of Cedar Park demonstrated an exemplary   commitment to public service as sheriff of Williamson County; and          WHEREAS, Mr. Gleason was elected sheriff in November 2020 and   held the office until the end of 2024; among his many   accomplishments, he secured pay increases for corrections and law   enforcement officers, maintained a healthy work culture and a fully   staffed agency, reinstated the crisis intervention team, and   established a jail-to-jobs program for inmates; he also served on a   number of boards and committees, including the Williamson County   Children's Advocacy Center Board, Bluebonnet Trails Community   Services Board, Sheriffs' Association of Texas Board, and Major   County Sheriffs of America Foundation Committee; and          WHEREAS, Over the course of his 31 years with the Williamson   County Sheriff's Office, Mr. Gleason demonstrated exceptional   leadership ability as he rose through the agency's ranks; he began   his career in corrections before becoming a licensed peace officer,   and he went on to serve in such pivotal command positions as   lieutenant of headquarters administration, captain of patrol   services, and assistant chief deputy of corrections; and          WHEREAS, A recipient of the Dr. James Moritz Endowed   Scholarship from the 100 Club of Texas, Mr. Gleason graduated from   the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia; he also   studied at the Correctional Management Institute of Texas at Sam   Houston State University; and          WHEREAS, Throughout his long career in law enforcement, Mike   Gleason dedicated himself to the safety and well-being of his   fellow Texans, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on his   many achievements; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby commend Mike Gleason for his service to   Williamson County and extend to him sincere best wishes for the   future; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for Mr. Gleason as an expression of high regard by the   Texas House of Representatives.     Bucy     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
