      H.R. No. 593       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, The observance of Environmental Justice Day at the   State Capitol on April 10, 2025, provides a fitting opportunity to   highlight the outstanding organizations that help to promote a   safe, clean, and healthy environment for all Texans; and          WHEREAS, Vulnerable individuals, especially in low-income   communities of color, have been overburdened by contaminants in our   air, water, and soil that negatively impact public health;   advocates of the environmental justice movement are working to   rally support for meaningful change that would mitigate pollution,   flooding, and other hazards; and          WHEREAS, Texans benefit from the many contributions of   environmental justice groups such as Air Alliance Houston,   Coalition for Environment, Equity, and Resilience, Bayou City   Waterkeeper, and Public Citizen; these organizations have   demonstrated a steadfast commitment to protecting the environment   and uplifting working-class communities; and          WHEREAS, Environmental justice advocates have played an   instrumental role in improving the quality of life for residents of   the Lone Star State, and they are indeed worthy of special   recognition for addressing this critical issue that affects   countless people; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby recognize April 10, 2025, as Environmental   Justice Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the   visiting delegation.     Reynolds     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
