      H.R. No. 552       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Words cannot fully express the sorrow felt at the   loss of Deputy Ruben Garcia of the Cameron County Constable's   Office, who died in the line of duty on September 30, 2024, at the   age of 49; and          WHEREAS, Ruben Garcia was born in Albion, Michigan, on   March 10, 1975, to Carmen Garcia and Raul Cantu; he also enjoyed the   affection of his sister, Rebecca, and several nieces and nephews;   and          WHEREAS, Mr. Garcia first joined the force as a member of the   Cameron County Sheriff's Office, and he went on to serve the   community with tremendous integrity and professionalism; after 22   years, he transferred to the Cameron County Precinct 1 Constable's   Office, and he distinguished himself as an asset to that agency for   nearly two years; he was admired and respected by his colleagues for   the compassion and kindness that he brought to the job; and          WHEREAS, Blessed with a loving family, Deputy Garcia   cherished the relationship he shared with his wife, Mayra Garcia,   and he was the proud father of three children, Ruben, Damian, and   Camila; and          WHEREAS, While the death of Ruben Garcia brings immeasurable   sadness to his loved ones and colleagues, he leaves behind a legacy   of selfless service that will continue to inspire all who had the   privilege of knowing him; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Deputy Ruben Garcia   and extend heartfelt sympathy to those who mourn his passing; and,   be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of   Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ruben   Garcia.     Lopez of Cameron     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
