      H.R. No. 377       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Elaine Mingus of Austin was crowned the United   States of America's Mrs. Texas 2025 at the USOA Miss Texas Pageant,   which took place in Richardson on November 3, 2024; and          WHEREAS, Open to married participants over 18 years of age,   the USOA Mrs. Texas competition emphasizes the importance of   women's empowerment, positive self-image, and community service;   and          WHEREAS, A passionate speaker and advocate, Mrs. Mingus has   used her platform to emphasize the healing power of sharing by   talking about her own experience overcoming childhood sexual abuse,   an eating disorder, and addiction, and she is actively involved in   numerous organizations, including Not on Our Watch Texas, Room   Redux, and Zonta Austin; and          WHEREAS, Mrs. Mingus runs a vintage furniture company, Curb   Vulture, and she shares her expertise on restoring and repairing   furniture through online masterclasses and courses; in all her   endeavors, she enjoys the love and support of a fine family that   includes her husband and her seven children; and          WHEREAS, Elaine Mingus has proven herself to be a deserving   recipient of the USOA Mrs. Texas crown, and her accomplishments are   a source of great pride to her family and her community; now,   therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby congratulate Elaine Mingus on being named the   United States of America's Mrs. Texas 2025 and extend to her sincere   best wishes for a successful reign; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for Mrs. Mingus as an expression of high regard by the   Texas House of Representatives.     Wilson     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
