      H.R. No. 371       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Members of the Texas chapters of the National Urban   League are gathering in Austin on March 13, 2025, for Urban League   Day at the State Capitol; and          WHEREAS, Founded in New York City in September 1910, the   National Urban League is the country's oldest and largest   community-based movement dedicated to advancing economic and   social justice for African Americans and other historically   underserved groups; today, the organization has 92 affiliates   across the United States; and          WHEREAS, Every year, programs and initiatives sponsored by   the National Urban League and the Urban League movement serve some   3.8 million people and generate an economic impact of approximately   $1.2 billion; over the past decade, the movement has reached more   than 22 million people with its job placement, housing, health   care, and education services and its initiatives to promote greater   public engagement in our democracy and civic processes; and          WHEREAS, The National Urban League and its affiliates have   worked tirelessly in behalf of justice, equality, and opportunity   for all Americans, and the participants in this advocacy day are   demonstrating their commitment to championing policies and issues   that benefit the public good; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby recognize March 13, 2025, as Urban League Day at   the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting   delegation.     Reynolds     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
