      H.R. No. 259       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, The girls' basketball team from East Chambers High   School in Winnie put together an outstanding 2024-2025 season,   claiming the Big Sandy Tournament championship and proudly   representing its community; and          WHEREAS, A season highlight came in early December, when the   Lady Bucs went unbeaten in the Big Sandy Tournament in   Dallardsville; the squad opened its thrilling run by defeating   Tarkington High School 35-30 and then Coldspring-Oakhurst High   School 48-32 in the second round; in the semifinals, East Chambers   battled Big Sandy High School and came away with a 46-37 victory;   matching up against Woden High School in the final, the Lady Bucs   cranked up the defensive pressure in a 40-29 triumph to bring home   the tournament title; and          WHEREAS, East Chambers captured several other notable wins   during its campaign to finish with an overall record of 19-13 and a   fifth-place showing in District 22-3A competition; and          WHEREAS, Excelling through teamwork, the Lady Bucs received   valuable contributions throughout the year from each member of the   roster: Mikeala Quave, Zoe Selby, Gracie McDaniel, Isabella Quave,   Ja'Mya Anderson, Faith Young, Mallory Frederick, Jayda Leday,   Jimena Vargas, and Hailey Hjelle; these determined   student-athletes were ably guided by coaches Savannah Brown, Erin   Palmer, and Elizabeth Cossey; and          WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering resolve to give   their very best, the members of the East Chambers High School girls'   basketball team have earned the admiration of their fellow students   and their many community supporters, and they may indeed reflect   with pride on their accomplishments; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby congratulate the East Chambers High School   girls' basketball team on a successful season and extend to the   players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for the future;   and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas   House of Representatives.     Leo Wilson     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
