HR206 - Congratulating Annette Addo-Yobo of Southlake on her selection as Miss Texas 2024.

      H.R. No. 206       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Annette Addo-Yobo was crowned Miss Texas 2024 at the   competition held at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing   Arts in Richardson on June 29, 2024; and          WHEREAS, Ms. Addo-Yobo participated in the statewide event as   Miss Southlake, and she made history by becoming the first   foreign-born contestant and the first Ghanaian to win the title of   Miss Texas; and          WHEREAS, In January 2025, Ms. Addo-Yobo represented the Lone   Star State at the Miss America competition, where she was named   first runner-up; in her role as Miss Texas, she serves as the   statewide ambassador for Texas Cares for Children, a nonprofit   organization that encourages leadership, education, and character   development among the state's youth; she is also using her platform   to promote safety, awareness, and education in behalf of people   with autism spectrum disorder through her service initiative, The   S.P.A.R.K.
