HR92 - In memory of Sharron Lea Hoff Stewart of Lake Jackson.

      H.R. No. 92       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and   meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends   of Sharron Lea Hoff Stewart of Lake Jackson, who passed away on July   17, 2024, at the age of 85; and          WHEREAS, The former Sharron Hoff was born to Muriel and Earl   J. Hoff on October 18, 1938, in Tacoma, Washington, and during her   youth, she developed exceptional skills in painting and drawing;   after graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas in 1957,   she continued her education at Southern Methodist University and   Texas Christian University, earning an art degree in 1961; and          WHEREAS, In the course of a successful career in education,   Mrs. Stewart taught art in Fort Worth, Austin, and Henderson and   served as an art advisor in the Brazosport Independent School   District; she further pursued her passion for art by painting   backdrops for The Little Theater of Brazosport and vessels of all   sorts at the Freeport docks; a dedicated environmentalist, she gave   generously of her time and talents to the Texas Environmental   Coalition, the Cradle of Texas Conservancy, and the Dow Chemical   Community Advisory Panel, and she held seats on the Galveston Bay   Council and the National Advisory Committee on Oceans and   Atmosphere; moreover, she played a vital role in the creation of the   Galveston Bay Foundation and the Galveston Bay Estuary Program, and   she helped to shape environmental legislative policy and to   organize some of the first coordinated beach cleanup efforts on the   Texas coast; in recognition of her contributions, she received a   Lifetime Achievement Award from the Galveston Bay Foundation in   2005; and          WHEREAS, Mrs. Stewart enjoyed the love and support of her   husband, Vaughan O'Neal Stewart, with whom she shared a rewarding   marriage that spanned more than six decades; she took great pride in   their three children, John, Leslie, and Melissa, and she was   further blessed with a grandson, Satchel; and          WHEREAS, While the death of Sharron Stewart brings great   sadness to her family and friends, she leaves behind a legacy that   will long be treasured by all those who held her dear; now,   therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Sharron Lea Hoff   Stewart and extend sincere condolences to her loved ones; and, be it   further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of   Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sharron   Stewart.     Vasut     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
