HR59 - Recognizing José D. Ollervides for his service to the City of Laredo.

      H.R. No. 59       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, José D. Ollervides has rendered exceptional service   to the City of Laredo; and          WHEREAS, A 1989 graduate of Universidad del Noreste de   México, Mr. Ollervides is the international relations coordinator   of the Laredo Convention and Visitors Bureau; he is tasked with   developing and implementing programs that promote the city around   the world; he also facilitates global initiatives, serves as a   diplomatic liaison, supports protocol and sub-diplomacy   activities, and writes reports; in 2024, he earned a course   certificate in global diplomacy from the University of London; and          WHEREAS, Mr. Ollervides served as assistant to the mayor of   Laredo from 2018 to 2024; in that role, he was responsible for   managing the mayor's schedule and correspondence, accompanying him   at public events and on international trips, and acting as his   advisor, translator, and interpreter; he also provided counsel on   U.S.-Mexico relations; from 2007 to 2018, he worked as an   audiovisual technical assistant for Laredo's Public Access Center,   producing public service announcements, assisting in script   creation and translation, and supervising television programming;   and          WHEREAS, Through his skill and professionalism, José   Ollervides has greatly benefited the City of Laredo, and his   contributions have earned the lasting respect and appreciation of   his colleagues and his fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby commend José D. Ollervides for his exemplary   service to the City of Laredo and extend to him sincere best wishes   for the future; and, be it further          RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be   prepared for Mr. Ollervides as an expression of high regard by the   Texas House of Representatives.     Raymond     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
