      H.R. No. 42       R E S O L U T I O N          WHEREAS, America's military veterans hold a revered place in   the history of this country and in the hearts of its people, and on   Veterans Day, November 11, 2025, Texans across the state are   gathering to pay tribute to these selfless men and women; and          WHEREAS, Originally celebrated as Armistice Day, in   recognition of the day the guns of World War I fell silent, Veterans   Day now honors all who have performed military service in this   country's behalf; their dedication to duty, in wartime and in   peacetime, is deserving of their fellow citizens' deepest   appreciation and gratitude; and          WHEREAS, Service in the armed forces demands much of the men   and women who undertake it, and the burdens assumed can be great; of   the legions who have answered their country's call, millions have   died or been wounded during wartime, countless others have endured   the hardships of POW camps, and thousands still remain missing;   those who have returned home from war forever carry with them a   profound understanding of loss and sacrifice; and          WHEREAS, To all these men and women, Americans owe a debt that   the passage of time can never diminish; it is a debt that calls us to   recognize their valiant service and to honor, in deeds as well as   words, those high ideals that represent the very best of this   nation's heritage; now, therefore, be it          RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas   Legislature hereby commemorate Veterans Day 2025 and pay tribute to   all of this country's veterans for their courage and patriotism.     Lalani     ______________________________   Speaker of the House                 I certify that H.R.
