A BILL
To require the designation of certain airports as ports of
entry, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Border Airport En-
4
hancement Act of 2023’’.
5
SEC. 2. DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AIRPORTS AS PORTS OF
6
ENTRY; CERTAIN HIRING ENHANCEMENTS
7
FOR U.S. CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTEC-
8
TION.

The President shall—

(1) pursuant to the Act of August 1, 1914 (38

Stat. 623, chapter 223; 19 U.S.C. 2), designate the

Valley International Airport in Harlingen, Texas,
3
and the Plattsburgh International Airport in Platts-
4
burgh, New York, as ports of entry; and
5
(2) terminate, if applicable, the application of
6
the user fee requirement under section 236 of the
7
Trade and Tariff Act of 1984 (19 U.S.C. 58b) with
8
respect to each such airport.
