SHORT TITLE. 3 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Apache County and 4 Navajo County Conveyance Act of 2024’’. 5 SEC. 2. CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN LAND WITHIN THE 6 APACHE-SITGREAVES NATIONAL FORESTS TO 7 NAVAJO COUNTY, ARIZONA. 8 (a) DEFINITIONS.—In this section: 9 (1) COUNTY.—The term ‘‘County’’ means Navajo 10 County, Arizona. 11 (2) MAP.—The term ‘‘map’’ means the map enti- 12 tled ‘‘Pinedale Cemetery Expansion’’ and dated May 13 23, 2022. 14 (3) SECRETARY.—The term ‘‘Secretary’’ means 15 the Secretary of Agriculture, acting through the Chief 16 of the Forest Service. 17 (b) CONVEYANCE REQUIRED.—Subject to this section, 18 if the County submits to the Secretary a written request 19 for conveyance of the property described in subsection (c)(1) 20 not later than 180 days after the date of enactment of this 21 Act, the Secretary shall convey to the County all right, title, 22 and interest of the United States in and to the property 23 described in subsection (c)(1). 24 (c) PROPERTY DESCRIBED.— 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:03 Dec 12, 2024 Jkt 059200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6203 E:\BILLS\H3047.RH H3047 kjohnson on DSK7ZCZBW3PROD with $$_JOB 4 •HR 3047 RH (1) IN GENERAL.—The property referred to in 1 subsection (b) is— 2 (A) the parcel of real property, including 3 all land and improvements, generally depicted as 4 ‘‘Exist. Cemetery’’ on the map, consisting of ap- 5 proximately 2.5 acres of National Forest System 6 land located in the Apache-Sitgreaves National 7 Forests in Arizona; and 8 (B) the parcel of real property, including 9 all land and improvements, generally depicted as 10 ‘‘Proposed Expansion’’ on the map, consisting of 11 approximately 2.5 acres of National Forest Sys- 12 tem land located in the Apache-Sitgreaves Na- 13 tional Forests in Arizona. 14 (2) MAP.— 15 (A) MINOR ERRORS.—The Secretary may 16 correct minor errors in the map. 17 (B) AVAILABILITY.—A copy of the map 18 shall be on file and available for public inspec- 19 tion in the appropriate offices of the Forest Serv- 20 ice. 21 (3) SURVEY.—The exact acreage and legal de- 22 scription of the National Forest System land to be 23 conveyed under subsection (b) shall be determined by 24 a survey satisfactory to the Secretary. 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:03 Dec 12, 2024 Jkt 059200 PO 00000 Frm 00004 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6203 E:\BILLS\H3047.RH H3047 kjohnson on DSK7ZCZBW3PROD with $$_JOB 5 •HR 3047 RH (d) TERMS AND CONDITIONS.—The conveyance under 1 subsection (b) shall— 2 (1) be subject to valid existing rights; 3 (2) be made without consideration; 4 (3) be made by quitclaim deed; 5 (4) not be subject to section 120(h) of the Com- 6 prehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, 7 and Liability Act of 1980 (42 U.S.C. 9620(h)); and 8 (5) be subject to any other terms and conditions 9 as the Secretary considers appropriate to protect the 10 interests of the United States. 11 (e) COSTS OF CONVEYANCE.—As a condition of the 12 conveyance under subsection (b), the County shall pay all 13 costs associated with the conveyance, including the cost of— 14 (1) a survey, if necessary, under subsection 15 (c)(3); and 16 (2) any environmental analysis and resource 17 surveys required by Federal law. 18 (f) REQUIRED USE AS CEMETERY.—The property con- 19 veyed to the County under subsection (b) shall be used by 20 the County as a cemetery. 21 (g) REVERSION.—If the property conveyed under sub- 22 section (b) is used in a manner that is inconsistent with 23 the requirement of subsection (f), all right, title, and interest 24 in and to the property shall revert to the United States. 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 23:03 Dec 12, 2024 Jkt 059200 PO 00000 Frm 00005 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6203 E:\BILLS\H3047.RH H3047 kjohnson on DSK7ZCZBW3PROD with $$_JOB 6 •HR 3047 RH SEC. 3.
