PERIODIC NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE ESTIMATES 1 ON CERTAIN EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE. 2 Title XI of the National Security Act of 1947 (50 3 U.S.C. 3231 et seq.) is amended by adding at the end 4 the following new section (and conforming the table of 5 contents at the beginning of such Act accordingly): 6 ‘‘SEC. 1114. PERIODIC NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE ESTI- 7 MATES ON CERTAIN EFFECTS OF CLIMATE 8 CHANGE. 9 ‘‘(a) REQUIREMENT.—Not later than the date that 10 is four years after the date of the enactment of this sec- 11 tion, and on a basis that is not less frequent than once 12 every four years thereafter, the Director of National Intel- 13 ligence, acting through the National Intelligence Council, 14 shall— 15 ‘‘(1) produce a National Intelligence Estimate 16 on the national security and economic security ef- 17 fects of climate change; and 18 ‘‘(2) submit to the congressional intelligence 19 committees such National Intelligence Estimate. 20 ‘‘(b) FORM.—Each National Intelligence Estimate 21 under subsection (a)(2) may be submitted in classified 22 form, but if so submitted, shall include an unclassified ex- 23 ecutive summary.’’. 24 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 04:04 May 05, 2023 Jkt 039200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H2903.IH H2903 pbinns on DSKJLVW7X2PROD with $$_JOB
