certain actions to prohibit air carriers from reducing the size of passenger
seats on aircraft, and for other purposes.

Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure
A BILL
To direct the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Adminis-
tration to take certain actions to prohibit air carriers
from reducing the size of passenger seats on aircraft,
and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Stop Airplane Seat
4
Shrinking Act’’.

SEC. 2. MINIMUM DIMENSIONS OF PASSENGER SEATS.

The Administrator of the Federal Aviation Adminis-

tration shall take such actions as are necessary to prohibit

air carriers (as such term is defined in section 40102(a)
1
of title 49, United States Code) from reducing the size
2
of a passenger seat on an aircraft operated by such air
3
carrier until the Administrator issues a final rule estab-
4
lishing minimum dimensions for passenger seats, as re-
5
quired under section 577 of the FAA Reauthorization Act
6
of 2018 (Public Law 115–254).
