SHORT TITLE. 3 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘VA Supply Chain Man- 4 agement System Authorization Act’’. 5 SEC. 2. MANAGEMENT OF SUPPLY CHAINS FOR MEDICAL 6 FACILITIES OF DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS 7 AFFAIRS. 8 (a) AUTHORIZATION.—The Secretary of Veterans Af- 9 fairs is authorized to— 10 (1) purchase or develop for the Veterans Health 11 Administration an information technology system for 12 the management of inventory, including expendable 13 and nonexpendable items; and 14 (2) implement such system. 15 (b) PILOT.—If the Secretary purchases or develops a 16 system under subsection (a), the Secretary shall carry out 17 a pilot program at one Department of Veterans Affairs fa- 18 cility before implementing the system throughout the De- 19 partment.
