A BILL
To direct the Secretary of Transportation to carry out a
study on the feasibility of certain transit options in the
Campbellton Road transportation corridor in Atlanta,
Georgia, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. CAMPBELLTON ROAD TRANSPORTATION COR-
3
RIDOR STUDY.
4
(a) IN GENERAL.—The Secretary of Transportation
5
shall conduct a study on the feasibility of transit options
6
in the Campbellton Road transportation corridor in At-
7
lanta, Georgia.

(b) CONTENTS.—In carrying out the study under
1
subsection (a), the Secretary shall determine—
2
(1) the feasibility of a light rail transit, heavy
3
rail transit, or bus rapid transit project in the
4
Campbellton Road transportation corridor and the
5
extent to which such project will assist in trans-
6
forming such corridor of established neighborhoods
7
and businesses into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly,
8
mixed-use community and how such project could
9
incentivize
major
redevelopment
efforts
at
10
Greenbriar Mall and Fort McPherson; and
11
(2) whether and which mode of transportation,
12
light rail transit, heavy rail transit, or bus rapid
13
transit, would best serve one of Atlanta, Georgia’s
14
busiest bus routes.

(c) REPORT TO CONGRESS.—Not later than 1 year
16
after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall
17
submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infra-
18
structure of the House of Representatives and the Com-
19
mittee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the
20
Senate, and publish in the Federal Register, a report con-
21
taining the results of the study under subsection (a).
