To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit the in-
timidation of election officials and poll workers, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Protecting Our Elec-
4
tion Workers Act of 2020’’.
5
SEC. 2. INTIMIDATION OF VOTERS AND ELECTION OFFI-
6
CIALS.

(a) IN GENERAL.—Section 594 of title 18, United
8
States Code, is amended—

(1) in the heading, by adding at the end the fol-

lowing: ‘‘and election officials’’;
2
(2) by striking ‘‘Whoever’’ and inserting ‘‘(a)
3
INTIMIDATION OF VOTERS—Whoever’’; and
4
(3) by adding at the end the following:
5
‘‘(b) INTIMIDATION OF ELECTION OFFICIALS AND
6
POLL WORKERS.—Whoever intimidates, threatens, co-
7
erces, or attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce, any
8
other person for the purpose of interfering with such other
9
person’s duties in connection with the administration of
10
an election described in subsection (a), shall be fined
11
under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or
12
both.’’.

(b) CLERICAL AMENDMENT.—The table of sections
14
for chapter 29 of title 18, United States Code, is amended
15
by striking the item related to section 594 and inserting
16
the following:

‘‘594. Intimidation of voters and election officials.’’.
