TREATMENT OF PAYMENTS FROM THE RAILROAD 1 UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE ACCOUNT. 2 (a) IN GENERAL.—Section 256(i)(1) of the Balanced 3 Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 (2 4 U.S.C. 906(i)(1)) is amended— 5 (1) in subparagraph (B), by striking ‘‘and’’ at 6 the end; 7 (2) in subparagraph (C), by inserting ‘‘and’’ at 8 the end; and 9 (3) by inserting after subparagraph (C) the fol- 10 lowing new subparagraph: 11 ‘‘(D) any payment made from the Railroad Un- 12 employment Insurance Account (established by sec- 13 tion 10 of the Railroad Unemployment Insurance 14 Act) for the purpose of carrying out the Railroad 15 Unemployment Insurance Act, and funds appro- 16 priated or transferred to or otherwise deposited in 17 such Account,’’. 18 (b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The treatment of payments 19 made from the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Ac- 20 count pursuant to the amendment made by subsection (a) 21 shall take effect 7 days after the date of enactment of this 22 Act and shall apply only to obligations incurred on or after 23 such effective date for such payments. 24 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 01:04 Oct 30, 2020 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\S4860.IS S4860 pbinns on DSKJLVW7X2PROD with BILLS
