Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. TEACHER RESIDENCY PROGRAMS. 1 (a) PARTNERSHIP GRANTS.—Section 2 202(e)(2)(B)(i)(I) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 3 (20 U.S.C. 1022a(e)(2)(B)(i)(I)) is amended— 4 (1) by striking ‘‘education or’’ and inserting 5 ‘‘education,’’; and 6 (2) by striking ‘‘accomplishment’’ and inserting 7 ‘‘accomplishment, or enrolled in a pre-baccalaureate 8 program at a four-year institution of higher edu- 9 cation with an academic major relating to teaching’’. 10 (b) PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS.—Section 11 455(m)(3)(B) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 12 U.S.C. 1087e(m)(3)(B)) is amended— 13 (1) in clause (i), by striking ‘‘or’’ at the end; 14 (2) in clause (ii), by striking the period at the 15 end and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and 16 (3) by adding at the end the following: 17 ‘‘(iii) participating, as a pre-bacca- 18 laureate student, in a teacher residency 19 program under section 202 of this Act.’’. 20 (c) AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.—Section 21 209 of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C. 22 1022h) is amended by striking ‘‘$300,000,000’’ and all 23 that follows and inserting ‘‘$600,000,000 for fiscal years 24 VerDate Sep 11 2014 04:54 Oct 27, 2020 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H8468.IH H8468 pbinns on DSKJLVW7X2PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 8468 IH 2021 through 2023 and such sums as may be necessary 1 for each succeeding fiscal year.’’ 2 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 04:54 Oct 27, 2020 Jkt 019200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H8468.IH H8468 pbinns on DSKJLVW7X2PROD with BILLS
