A BILL
To provide a funding limitation on funds appropriated under
the CARES Act.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Accountability for
4
CARES Act of 2020’’.
5
SEC. 2. FUNDING LIMITATION.
6
(a) IN GENERAL.—None of the funds appropriated
7
under the CARES Act (Public Law 116–136) may be pro-
8
vided to an entity that is under the foreign ownership, con-
9
trol, or influence of—

(1) the Government of the People’s Republic of

China;
2
(2) the Chinese Communist Party; or
3
(3) an entity domiciled in the People’s Republic
4
of China.

(b) CLAWBACK.—The Secretary of the Treasury, in
6
consultation with the Secretary of State, shall recover all
7
of the amounts appropriated under the CARES Act that
8
were provided to entities described in subsection (a).
