To direct the Under Secretary for Health of the Department
of Veterans Affairs to provide certain information to
Department of Veterans Affairs medical center staff and
homelessness service providers regarding the Coordinated
Entry program, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Improving Housing
4
Outcomes for Veterans Act of 2020’’.

SEC. 2. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS SHARING OF

INFORMATION RELATED TO DEPARTMENT OF
2
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT CO-
3
ORDINATED ENTRY PROGRAM.

(a) IN GENERAL.—The Under Secretary for Health
5
of the Department of Veterans Affairs shall—
6
(1) provide to Department of Veterans Affairs
7
medical center staff and homelessness service pro-
8
viders the information described in subsection (b);
9
and
10
(2) ensure that such information, and other re-
11
sources the Under Secretary determines are appro-
12
priate, are accessible to Department of Veterans Af-
13
fairs medical center staff and homelessness service
14
providers.

(b) INFORMATION DESCRIBED.—The information de-
16
scribed in this subsection is information related to best
17
practices with respect to the collaboration between Depart-
18
ment of Veterans Affairs medical centers, homelessness
19
service providers, and other local partners (including local
20
Department of Housing and Urban Development offices
21
or public housing agencies) on activities under the Coordi-
22
nated Entry program of the Department of Housing and
23
Urban Development, including making referrals and shar-
24
ing data, as the Under Secretary determines appropriate.

TION WITH EMPLOYEES RESPONSIBLE FOR

HOMELESSNESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS.

The Under Secretary for Health of the Department
4
of Veterans Affairs shall clearly communicate with em-
5
ployees of the Department of Veterans Affairs whose re-
6
sponsibilities are related to homelessness assistance pro-
7
grams regarding—
8
(1) the measurement of performance by the
9
Homeless Program Office of the Department; and
10
(2) how to obtain and provide feedback about
11
performance measures.
