Mr. CURTIS (for himself, Mr. BISHOP of Utah, and Mr. STEWART) introduced
the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Natural Resources
A BILL
To designate and adjust certain lands in the State of Utah
as components of the National Wilderness Preservation
System, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Bonneville Shoreline
4
Trail Advancement Act’’.
5
SEC. 2. WILDERNESS AREA INCLUDED IN MOUNT OLYMPUS
6
WILDERNESS.
7
Section 102(a) of the Utah Wilderness Act of 1984
8
(Public Law 98–428; 98 Stat. 1657; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note)
9
is amended—

SEC. 3. WILDERNESS BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS.

(a) MOUNT NAOMI WILDERNESS BOUNDARY AD-
15
JUSTMENT.—

(1) ADJUSTMENT.—Section 102 of the Utah
17
Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98–428, 98
18
Stat. 1657, 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) is amended by
19
adding at the end the following:
20
‘‘(c) MOUNT NAOMI WILDERNESS BOUNDARY AD-
21
JUSTMENT.—Certain lands in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache
22
National Forest which comprise approximately 11.17
23
acres as generally depicted on a map entitled the ‘Bonne-
24
ville Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’, dated July 9, 2020,

(2) MANAGEMENT.—The Mount Naomi Wilder-

ness, as designated under section 102(a)(1) of the
4
Utah Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98–428;
5
98 Stat. 1658; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) and adjusted
6
under paragraph (1), effective beginning on the date
7
of the enactment of this Act, shall be managed as
8
part of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.

(b) MOUNT OLYMPUS WILDERNESS BOUNDARY AD-
10
JUSTMENT.—

(1) ADJUSTMENT.—Section 102 of the Utah
12
Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98–428; 98
13
Stat. 1657; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note), as amended by
14
subsection (a), is further amended by adding the at
15
the end the following:

‘‘(d) MOUNT OLYMPUS WILDERNESS BOUNDARY AD-
17
JUSTMENT.—Certain lands in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache
18
National Forest which comprise approximately 197.4
19
acres as generally depicted on a map entitled the ‘Bonne-
20
ville Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’, dated July 9, 2020,
21
are hereby removed from the Mount Olympus Wilderness
22
designated under subsection (a)(3).’’.

(2) MANAGEMENT.—The Mount Olympus Wil-
24
derness, as designated under section 102(a)(3) of

(c) TWIN PEAKS WILDERNESS BOUNDARY ADJUST-

MENT.—

(1) ADJUSTMENT.—Section 102 of the Utah
9
Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98–428, 98
10
Stat. 1657, 16 U.S.C. 1132 note), as amended by
11
subsections (a) and (b), is further amended by add-
12
ing at the end the following:

‘‘(e) TWIN PEAKS WILDERNESS BOUNDARY ADJUST-
14
MENT.—Certain lands in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache Na-
15
tional Forest which comprise approximately 9.8 acres as
16
generally depicted on a map entitled the ‘Bonneville
17
Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’, dated July 9, 2020, are
18
hereby removed from the Twin Peaks Wilderness des-
19
ignated under subsection (a)(4).’’.

(2) MANAGEMENT.—The Twin Peaks Wilder-
21
ness, as designated under section 102(a)(4) of the
22
Utah Wilderness Act of 1984 (Public Law 98–428;
23
98 Stat. 1658; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) and adjusted
24
under paragraph (1), effective beginning on the date

(d) LONE PEAK WILDERNESS BOUNDARY ADJUST-

MENT.—

(1) ADJUSTMENT.—Section 2 of the Endan-

gered American Wilderness Act of 1978 (Public Law
6
95–237; 92 Stat. 42; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) is
7
amended—
8
(A) in subsection (j), by striking ‘‘and’’ at
9
the end;
10
(B) in subsection (k), by striking the pe-
11
riod at the end and inserting ‘‘; and’’; and
12
(C) by adding at the end the following:
13
‘‘(l) certain lands in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache Na-
14
tional Forest, Utah, which comprise approximately 107.9
15
acres as generally depicted on a map entitled the ‘Bonne-
16
ville Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’, dated July 9, 2020,
17
are hereby removed from the Lone Peak Wilderness Area
18
designated under subsection (i).’’.

(2) MANAGEMENT.—The Lone Peak Wilderness
20
Area, as designated under section 2(i) of the Endan-
21
gered American Wilderness Act of 1978 (Public Law
22
95–237; 92 Stat. 42; 16 U.S.C. 1132 note) and ad-
23
justed under paragraph (1), effective beginning on
24
the date of the enactment of this Act, shall be man-

SEC. 4. RULE OF CONSTRUCTION.
3
Nothing in this Act or the amendments made by this
4
Act—
5
(1) affects the use or allocation, in existence on
6
the date of enactment of this Act, of any water,
7
water right, or interest in water;
8
(2) affects any water right (as defined by appli-
9
cable State law) in existence on the date of enact-
10
ment of this Act, including any water right held by
11
the United States;
12
(3) affects any interstate water compact in ex-
13
istence on the date of enactment of this Act; or
14
(4) shall be considered to be a relinquishment
15
or reduction of any water rights reserved or appro-
16
priated by the United States in the State on or be-
17
fore the date of enactment of this Act.

SEC. 5. MAP.
19
(a) MAP ON FILE.—The map entitled the ‘‘Bonneville
20
Shoreline Trail Legislative Map’’, dated July 9, 2020,
21
shall be on file and available for inspection in the office
22
of the Chief of the Forest Service.
