A BILL
To require the Corps of Engineers to include study of the
impacts of sea-level rise and low-frequency precipitation
events in addition to the impacts of coastal hurricanes
in certain studies, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Hudson River Climate
4
Change Protection Act’’.

SEC. 2. INCLUSION OF THE STUDY OF SEA-LEVEL RISE AND

LOW-FREQUENCY PRECIPITATION EVENTS IN
2
CERTAIN CORPS OF ENGINEERS STUDIES.

In carrying out the examination and survey required
4
under the Act of June 15, 1955 (Public Law 84–71; 69
5
Stat. 132), and the study and report required under the
6
heading ‘‘Corps of Engineers—Civil—Investigations’’
7
under title II of Division A of the Disaster Relief Appro-
8
priations Act, 2013 (Public Law 113–2), the Corps of En-
9
gineers shall—
10
(1) immediately begin to include as an addi-
11
tional subject of such examination and study the
12
threat of sea-level rise and low-frequency precipita-
13
tion events and the impacts of sea-level rise and low-
14
frequency precipitation events on the environment,
15
communities, and ecosystem services; and
16
(2) carry out such examination and study in ac-
17
cordance with section 1001 of the Water Resources
18
Reform and Development Act (33 U.S.C. 2282c).
