Mr. THUNE (for himself and Ms. SMITH) introduced the following bill; which
was read twice and referred to the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition,
and Forestry
A BILL
To amend the Food Security Act of 1985 to allow for emer-
gency use of certain land during a pandemic, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Pandemic Authority
4
Suitable To Utilize Reserve Easements Act’’ or the ‘‘PAS-
5
TURE Act’’.

Section 1233(b)(1)(B)(i)(I) of the Food Security Act
4
of 1985 (16 U.S.C. 3833(b)(1)(B)(i)(I)) is amended—
5
(1) in the matter preceding item (aa), by strik-
6
ing ‘‘or other emergency,’’ and inserting ‘‘or other
7
emergency (including a pandemic),’’; and
8
(2) in item (cc), by inserting ‘‘or pandemic’’
9
after ‘‘disaster event’’.
