SECTION 1. TRANSITIONAL HEALTH BENEFITS FOR CER-

TAIN MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL GUARD

SERVING UNDER ORDERS IN RESPONSE TO
3
THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID–19).

(a) IN GENERAL.—The Secretary of Defense shall
5
provide to a member of the National Guard separating
6
from active service after serving on full-time National
7
Guard duty pursuant to section 502(f) of title 32, United
8
States Code, the health benefits authorized under section
9
1145 of title 10, United States Code, for a member of
10
a reserve component separating from active duty, as re-
11
ferred to in subsection (a)(2)(B) of such section 1145, if
12
the active service from which the member of the National
13
Guard is separating was in support of the whole of govern-
14
ment response to the coronavirus (COVID–19).

(b) DEFINITIONS.—In this section, the terms ‘‘active
16
duty’’, ‘‘active service’’, and ‘‘full-time National Guard
17
duty’’ have the meanings given those terms in section
18
101(d) of title 10, United States Code.
