Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 SECTION 1. WORKERS’ COMPENSATION FOR TSA EMPLOYEES 1 WHO CONTRACT COVID–19. 2 (a) IN GENERAL.—Any Transportation Security Ad- 3 ministration employee described in subsection (b) who is 4 diagnosed with COVID–19 during the period between 5 January 30, 2020, and January 30, 2022, shall, upon ap- 6 plication, presumptively be entitled to disability compensa- 7 tion, medical services, and any other benefit provided 8 under subchapter I of chapter 81 of title 5, United States 9 Code. 10 (b) TSA EMPLOYEE.—A Transportation Security 11 Administration employee described in this subsection is 12 any of the following: 13 (1) A transportation security officer. 14 (2) A Federal air marshal. 15 (3) A canine handler. 16 (4) Any employee carrying out duties that re- 17 quire substantial contact with the public. 18 (c) ATTORNEYS’ FEES.—The Secretary of Labor 19 shall approve any claim of reasonable legal or other serv- 20 ices furnished with respect to a case, claim, or award for 21 any Transportation Security Administration employee 22 under this section. 23 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 04:06 May 02, 2020 Jkt 099200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H6656.IH H6656 kjohnson on DSK79L0C42PROD with BILLS
