A BILL
To ensure that low-income college students are eligible for
emergency supplemental nutrition assistance program
benefits.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-

tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Emergency Ensuring
4
Access to SNAP (EATS) Act of 2020’’.

SEC. 2. SNAP PREVENTING HUNGER AMONG LOW-INCOME

COLLEGE STUDENTS.

Beginning with the first month that begins after the
3
date of the enactment of this Act, and for each subsequent
4
month through the end of the month following—
5
(1) the month the current public health emer-
6
gency declaration by the Secretary of Health and
7
Human Services under section 319 of the Public
8
Health Service Act based on an outbreak of
9
coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID–19) is termi-
10
nated, or
11
(2) the end of the first college term following
12
the end of such public health emergency,
13
whichever is later, eligibility for supplemental nutrition as-
14
sistance program benefits shall not be limited under sec-
15
tion 6(e) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.S.C.
16
2015(e)).
