DISCLOSURE OF COVID-19 CASES IN PUBLIC HOUS- 1 ING. 2 (a) REQUIREMENT.—Notwithstanding any other pro- 3 vision of law, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Devel- 4 opment shall establish such guidelines and requirements 5 as may be necessary to require, and to establish a proce- 6 dure for, each public housing agency that operates or ad- 7 ministers public housing (as such term is defined in sec- 8 tion 3(b) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42 9 U.S.C. 1437a(b))) to promptly inform residents of a public 10 housing project, upon acquisition of reliable information 11 that any resident of the project has been determined by 12 a qualified health agency to have tested positive for the 13 coronavirus or the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID- 14 19), that a resident of the project has so tested positive. 15 (b) MEANS OF NOTIFICATION.—The guidelines and 16 requirements required under subsection (a) shall specify 17 the manner by which residents of a public housing project 18 are provided information required under such subsection. 19 (c) REMOVAL OF PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE IN- 20 FORMATION.—In making the information required under 21 subsection (a) available to the public, the Secretary shall 22 ensure that appropriate administrative and physical safe- 23 guards are in place to remove all personally identifiable 24 information. 25 VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:04 Mar 28, 2020 Jkt 099200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H6297.IH H6297 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 6297 IH (d) ISSUANCE; EFFECTIVE DATE.—The Secretary of 1 Housing and Urban Development shall issue the guide- 2 lines and requirements required under subsection (a) not 3 later than the expiration of the 30-day period beginning 4 on the date of the enactment of this Act, which guidelines 5 and requirements shall take effect upon issuance. 6 Æ VerDate Sep 11 2014 02:04 Mar 28, 2020 Jkt 099200 PO 00000 Frm 00003 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6301 E:\BILLS\H6297.IH H6297 pamtmann on DSKBC07HB2PROD with BILLS
